Who we are
Our history goes all the way back to a Local Authority consortium founded in 1963. In 1995 Pillar Software Ltd. was formed as a private company, and we have been developing Time Management and Office Costing software ever since, as well as providing bespoke systems.
We are based in offices housed in a listed building in the centre of Newent, a small but busy market town in Gloucestershire. The picture shows our offices - we are situated on the second floor of the black and white building on the right hand side.
Our core product is Profess, which has been developed over this period through active Local Authority user groups. Originally designed for the public sector, Profess has now widened its appeal to all types of enterprise and in doing so has attracted a number of private sector sales.
In 2007 Pillar Software launched Time Manager, a fully web-enabled time recording and time management system available in both hosted and installed versions.
Dating back to 1986, the Profess Time Recording and Service Management system reached its Windows edition in early 1996.
Today Profess includes a range of additional service management tools: Time Companion, Project Manager, Property & Asset Management Planning, Contractor Tendering, Works Ordering and our integrated Document Manager.
We also have a long history of bespoke development projects for a range of clients. A fine example of this relationship is MSI's Calibration Certificate Database as used in their Calibration Laboratory in Winsford, Cheshire.
